Lake Charles
Our Story

I was raised thirty miles east of Lake Charles in rural Jeff Davis Parish by wonderful parents who modeled, mentored and forged a strong faith and character that is the foundation of my life today. After graduating from Jennings High School, I attended LSU at Eunice for two years as a pre-med major. It was during this time that God did two things in my life. First, He reminded me of my previous commitment to devote my life to full-time service to Him, and secondly, He brought my wife into my life.
In 1997, I married my college sweetheart, Lisa, and graduated from the University of Louisiana with a degree in English and History. After receiving my bachelor’s degree, I served as a middle school teacher for two years.
In the fall of 2006, the dream of Church of the King became a reality. We had our first service in November and knew from the very beginning that God’s hand of favor was with us. From humble beginnings to over 1,400 active members in less than eight years, God’s grace has been with us. As a pastor, it is my earnest desire to see that people are pastored, empowered and released into the dream God has for their life.
In short, my heart is for people to “win” at the life God has given them.
I want to personally invite you and your family to join us this weekend for one of our worship services. I believe Church of the King is a place you can call home.
